J. Thayer Company proudly gives back in the communities we serve — a precedence set by our company founder the late Brigadier General James B. Thayer whose community and philanthropic efforts shaped our value system.

Since our founding in 1955, J. Thayer Company has been dedicated to strengthening the community. Through price breaks for our non-profit organization customers, a company culture of volunteerism, and donations to charitable organizations, we enjoy serving the communities in which we work.

We proudly support:

● Boys and Girls Aid ● Oregon Humane Society ● Janus Youth Programs ● DoveLewis Animal Hospital ● NW Children’s Theater ● YMCA of Portland ● Spokane Symphony ● Lutheran Community Services ● Clark County Food Bank … and many more

Thayer Family Foundation

J. Thayer Company proudly gives back to the Thayer Family Foundation, established in honor of the late Brigadier General James B. Thayer.  Thayer was a widely respected leader in Oregon's business, philanthropic, and political communities. The Foundation was formed to fund and support the needs of Oregon veterans, military personnel, and first responders, but also those dedicated to societal and culturally significant fields such as educators, musicians, and artists.

J. Thayer Company Owner and President John Thayer serves as the Foundation's Treasurer along with his two brothers and sister-in-law.
